PURPOSE
The main aim of this report is to ensure the students about understanding of the management and leadership, difference between a leader and manager, traits, characteristics, the functioning of manager and the role of leader in the organisational context. Additionally, the report will sum up the concept and approaches to the operations management & the role of management in ensuring about the efficient and effective operations.

you are working in a large city-based organisation that is H&M which is looking up to prepare their staff for the future management and leadership roles. You are asked to write a report on the adoption of leadership and management development programme. It has been requested from the expertise to clarify the difference between the term “management” & “leadership”. You are also requested to produce the recommendation on the situational and contingency theories of leadership and how they will adopt the key principles into an appropriate development programme of an organisation.
- Explain the similarities and difference between the manger and leader that includes the characteristic and roles.
- The function of a manger in accordance with the Fayol, and how the manger in an organisation perform this function with the help of various examples.
- The system leadership, situational leadership and the contingency leadership uses various scenario within the organisation to justify your explanation.

you are working as a manger in the large retail store. You are being invited to produce a talk in the seminar to the students about the operations of management.
