INTRODUCTION

This journal or assignment would be based on Human Resource management, diversity and performance which means that what is the effect of working diversity on the performance of team in organisation. The study would be included that of Getting Specified about Demographic Diversity Variable and Team Performance Relationship: A Meta-Analysis that was published in 2011. Under this research which simplifies the relationship between team performance with that of demographic diversity into organisation using the meta-analysis techniques.

This journal which was published in the year 2011 that was focusing on demographic variable especially based on organisational tenure and functional background. They did not took the more broader aspect like that of less or more related to jobs. In their research they found out that functional background is having very little impact or relationship with general performance of team, creativity and that on innovation (Yang and Konrad, 2011). But on the other hand relationship of functional background was more on designing and product development team. By word team diversity we mean that factor which is having distributional challenges between the teammates of particular team as they are having different attributes. If the team is not having any diversity within its teammates then they would not be able to work in more different perspective as they would not be having greater access to knowledge.

So this whole journal was including that within the aspect of diversity that factor which are less job related like that of age or gender would be having negative relationship with team performance (Bell and et.al., 2011). Whereas the factor like that of educational and functional background which are called to as highly job related would be having positive relationship. Yet it was noticed that this should not be overemphasised which means that more diversity any type of organisation will also b leading to lower down of cooperation and coordination into company. In the similarity attraction paradigm which tells that those teams having homogeneous members within are having more productive work as they all could easily maintain mutual attraction. All of which leading to higher team collaboration, efficient team process, effective communication and they would be having good performance then that of diversified team.

Both the terms performance of team and demographic diversity would be having an indirect link as members of team make certain assumption on the bases of this demographic characteristic (Getting Specific about Demographic Diversity Variable and Team Performance Relationships: A Meta-Analysis, 2018). So if researchers are taking these two factors to measure relationship between them both then this would be indicating variety of results. In one of the research it was indicated that demographic is having no relationship with team performance in accordance with less or high job related. While in other research it was found to have high job related would be having positive relationship demographic diversity. In this research the term functional background would be known to that diversity that is referring to distinction of level and amount of work that is present within one organisation like that of finance or marketing department (Nandkeolyar, 2008). On the other hand the educational background would be including knowledge of team member that is related to their current attitude and perspective. Then in this sense it was taken that organisation should be focusing on more educational background so that they would be having increased into diversity on bases of knowledge and information.

Within this aspect the organisational tenure should be meaning amount of time each person in team has worked into same company. This aspect or factor would also be having impact on performance of employee procedures via which person in team is understanding the level of social knowledge and value of that company (Armstrong and Taylor, 2014). Like in terms of research and development team their organisational tenure would be helping them to have better access to how to access resources of organisation money and capital both.

CONCLUSION

At the end it was concluded that both the aspect of demographic variable with that of team performance is having to some particular level positive and then negative relationship. Like if there is to some extent diversity of people working into the team or organisation then the level of knowledge and skills would be greater but on the other hand if this diversity is been increased then it would lead to lack of cooperation and coordination. So company should be engaged in diversity in organisation in terms of demographic but not in too much extent as this would be impacting the way in which people are working within team and organisation.
