INTRODUCTION

Stroke is a serious medical condition that occurs when the brain doesn't receive enough blood flow. This can lead to brain cell death and permanent damage. There are two main types of stroke - ischemic stroke, which is caused by a blockage in a blood vessel, and hemorrhagic stroke, which is caused by bleeding in the brain.

In about 80% of cases, stroke is the result of poor blood flow to the brain. The other 20% are caused by hemorrhage. This is an important distinction, as the treatments and outcomes can vary significantly between the two types.

Stroke can have a profound impact on a person's physical health and daily life. After a stroke, many individuals experience significant limitations and challenges. They may struggle with mobility, balance, coordination, and the ability to perform everyday tasks independently. Simple activities like getting dressed, bathing, or cooking can become extremely difficult.

Beyond the physical effects, stroke can also take a toll on a person's mental and emotional well-being. The sudden change in capabilities and loss of independence can be devastating, leading to feelings of frustration, depression, and anxiety.

It's crucial for healthcare providers, especially adult nurses, to be aware of the wide-ranging impacts of stroke. Understanding the specific limitations and needs of stroke survivors is essential for providing the appropriate care and support to help them adapt and regain as much function as possible.

Ultimately, stroke is a life-altering event that can profoundly change a person's daily life. By educating ourselves and others about the realities of post-stroke challenges, we can work to improve the quality of life for those affected by this serious medical condition.

This is how different other factors also can make the situation of stroke more critical and problematic.

Stroke

These are some main criteria that can be evaluated in order to analyze the physical condition of the person. As in the initial part of report stroke is classified in two categories which are known as Ischemic and other one is hemorrhagic (Hemphill III and et.al., 2015). Ischemic Stroke is result of certain blockage in the vans that are carrying blood. This blockage reduces the blood supply to certain area of brain and it can cause stroke. The other type of stroke is known as haemorrhagic. In this type of stroke, the blood supply to the certain area of brain reduces due to rapture of blood cells. Most case that are visible in patients are of ischemic Stroke and only few of them are fall in category of Hemorrhagic stroke. Stroke affects the personal life of individual patient by reducing their personal capabilities and these are result of paralysis, Poor coordination, loss of feelings, lack of awareness and neglect one side of body (Sacco and et.al., 2016). This also results as difficulty in initiating movement or planning a sequence of movements. There are some things that are important for person to slow down, take time, plan a task and break down a long task in different small categories in order to keep work efficient. There are some most important activities of people are affected due to stroke are- swallowing and eating, dressing, domestic duties, leisure, toileting and driving. These are some activities where people feel difficulty.

Post Stroke Issue faces by Person and Nurse on Daily Life

Swallowing and Eating is one of the main activities that is basic need of people. To live a healthy life, it is important for person to eat food (Hackshaw and et.al., 2018). After facing stroke people feel major issue in swallowing and eating. Due to stroke person have less control on their muscle. For swallowing food this is important for person to have control on muscles, this control can help the person to swallow food easily. This problem is more critical when person is suffering from paralysis, in this condition person is not able to eat food on their own. For this condition medical assistance is required to feed food to the patient. In this case nursing staff uses a plastic tube that go through nose and down through throat to the stomach (Kyu and et.al., 2016). This is important to use this tube in order to feed the person. Without this tube this is not possible to provide nutritious diet to patient. In condition of stroke person can choke with food and even on own saliva. The semi solid food is delivered through this plastic tube. Patient cannot consume solid food because they do not have control on their jaw movement and tongue and it is difficult for them to chewing the food. The coughing and choking are main signs that drink of food has entered the wind pipe. This condition can lead to pneumonia. This is how the person find difficulty in eating and swallowing food.

Dressing is also a daily task that is performed by person on routine basis. Weakness on the one side of body, less control on body movement and lack of coordination are main symptoms of stroke. These are activities where person feel lacking. This is not possible for them to dress on their own (Soares-Miranda and et.al., 2016). This is really difficult for person to get dressed with weak body. Getting dressed is a long sequential task that needs effective planning for execution. With stroke and less muscle control it is difficult for person to remember this sequential task. So, this is really difficult for person to effectively dressed without having trouble. Each garment takes different process to get dressed, this thing makes the process of dressing more difficult for patient.

There are some activities are also need to be performed by the person. These tasks are simple in operation but people feel difficulty in performing these tasks (Thompson and et.al., 2015). The tasks that are known as domestic tasks are- cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing, laundry and ironing. These tasks are simpler than other complex tasks but it needs physical activity of person. Due to physical harms of stroke patient are not capable of performing physical task. Weakness, dizziness and sleepiness can reduce the capability of person. This is how patient that is under recovery process feel difficulty in performing such domestic tasks.

There are some tasks which are associated with the personal interest and hobbies of person. There are certain difficulties are faced by people. They find difficulties in gripping or holding things which is important for daily routine tasks. This is big challenge for person to perform these activities with high efficiency. Pain, tiredness and vision issues also reduce the capability of individual person. This is how stroke can prevent a person to perform those activities which are of their interest.

Toileting is also a regular activity of persons life. After the stroke till few weeks’ patient do not have full control of body and continuous weakness regularly affect their personal life (Chen and et.al., 2017). Due to less control on body muscle and reduced efficiency of brain can affect the capability of finding the urgency of toileting. This is how person is not able to control these actions. After the recovery process patient might be able to perform these tasks. Driving is one of the activities that is performed by person on regular basis as a routine. For the people who have to go outside for job and they usually prefer driving. This is major trouble for them to drive car or any vehicle. Stroke reduce the capability coordination, focusing and finding direction. This limitation due to stroke can cause difficulty for person to drive. They might feel lost or less vision capability can affect their driving ability. It also can lead to major or minor accident.
