INTRODUCTION

Health and social care is a terminology that involves supplying services to improve the health of individuals living in society. It has a broad scope that consist of different concepts like nutrition, biology, ethics etc. Health and social care department is developed to carry out such services that focus on meeting needs of people. Assignment highlights the concepts of health, illness and disability faced by users as well as different approaches that supports individuals with specific needs. Apart from it, there are strategies that are formulated to cope up challenging behaviour associated with health and social care requirements.

1.1 Analysing concepts of health, disability, illness and behaviour to users of health and social care services

Health and social care plays a vital role in ensuring that individuals live a healthy and disease-free life. The concept of health defines people's right which is fundamental in nature. It include leading a life without any illness and problems. On the other hand, disability is a condition of impairment that concentrates the relation among features of the society where they are living and residing for longer period. The people engaged in health and social care sector works to meet out health issues that may be of different nature and type like physical, mentality and learning disabilities. Apart from it, disease is also a aspect that is defined as an abnormal condition of an individual due to unstable mind and body (Morgeson, DeRue and Karam, 2010). There are number of causes that affect the human health hence, it can further be divided based on mental, physical and social. Health and social care organisations that are present in the society that imparts all the health-related services to make the people healthy and disease free. World Health Organisation(WHO) is the institution that is developed to make efforts for improving health of every individual of the world.

WHO’s definition of Health: It is a “state of complete mental, social and physical well being and not merely the absence of disease.”

Explain the concept of normality: It is defined when an individual person is consistent with his or her behaviour than this concept is known as normality.

This defined as people is suffering from number of diseases due to number of reasons hence, conditions are not favourable.

Behaviour and different causes of it (genetics, illness, stress, etc.)

1.2 Assessing the way perceptions of specific needs have changed over time

It has been observed that perceptions of specific needs have been changed over time on several basis and aspects (Tomlinson, 2014). There are number of approaches towards mental learning conception that is largely being ignored hence proper attention and consideration should be provided and granted. There are several steps that have been formulated which include awareness creation and educational programmes that helps in building knowledge about the same. Government have taken several steps to meet the needs and requirements that must be fulfilled in respect of disability phenomenon. There are some cases of historical perspective of generation of health issues and consider due to bad spirits as the cause for illness which was later being transformed into individual's purification in Christianity religion. The social and political component together results in contribution in changing the perception. There is another example in this aspect that include craziness of individual for Paralympics games which is held in four years. Health institution have developed several training and development programs that has been imparted to doctors, practitioners to improve the health of people (DePoy and Gitlin, 2015).
