Skill, confidence, self-efficacy and engagement. The essay outlines the use of two theories that is Behaviourism and Cognitivism which supports teaching and learning environment for learners.


Behaviourism and Cognitivism are two movements in psychology that have significant implications for viewing learning and education. Behaviourism is the study of behaviour for the purpose of identifying its determinants. It is the most common theory of learning which helps to discover better performance level (Bandura, 2014). On the other side, Cognitivism and Behaviourism are two theories of learning education which enhance the motivation level. Overall study is based on mental processes which enhance better learning outcomes.

Behaviourism theory uses response metaphor to interpret the behaviour in the world and sets its inquiry according to the affordance of the metaphor. Along with that, it will be more enlarging process which is more likely process to be done on the basis of good learning. Cognitive and Behaviourism have similar significant ways in order to make better performance level which is more likely to perform in more performance manner. Moreover, cognitive theory is applied on the human nature in order to identify the human nature through they make their decision making approach and why they make error while they implement the process. Apart from that, cognitive theory present the way to understand the human perceives and way through they understand the world (Hampton and Winter, 2017). Because cognitive science is based on inquiry process and identify better learning and growth.

Cognitive theory always goes beyond the behaviourism in order to implement the theories process. Cognitivism defines helps to change the overall process or learning which define better services or process. More apart, learning is the most necessary to generate new process to perform the task. Besides, it will also helpful to make relation with others. For that, behaviourism process adopts reinforcement history and maturation levels in affecting the ability to learn. On the contrary, Cognitive focuses on the memory to retrieve or remembering process of human being. Apart from that, it will the overall process of learning. In behaviourism, approach memory does not matter; besides in Cognitivism theory memory is matter and important for learning process moreover it includes better job in order to learn or enhance the human nature and growth. Another difference between both theories is that transfer cognitive theory learns about how to manage complex situation, inferring, problem solving and information processing (Resnick, 2017). Besides, in behaviourism includes low level types such as knowledge, understand and application. Both the learning process and making task is helpful to make better learning process. Moreover, it will be more flexible to learn new different things in order to get better outcome level. More apart it will be more explaining and enlarging the process making work. Both theories are based on different approaches in order judge the human behaviour (Resnick, 2017). Behaviourism learning process defines the learning process. In more advancing and enlarging the process. Along with that, it will be more beneficial to make better understanding between human beings. It has been concluded that both theories have been based on their own concepts through learning will become more challenging and effective.
