PART A- You are required to identify and describe a topic for video presentation (5 minutes):
Form a team by Week 3 and on the basis of innovation theory, your team should cover diversity, team members from varied backgrounds, different age-groups, personalities and gender. Various perspectives will challenge the thinking and improve team outcomes.
Your topic should be based in the tourism, culinary, hospitality or events area.
As a team, find a specific problem or business opportunity you like to work and it could be an innovative product, service experience or process.
Within week 7, an individual team is needed to present its recognised problem or innovative idea to its subject peers as well as tutor in 5 minutes only. Please get your topic approved by your tutor prior to move on next stage, that is, Part B. Please make sure that you have founded a suitable topic which is worth exploring.
PART B- You are required to prepare video presentation (15 minutes):
Based on Part A, you should follow given stages for producing video presentation, due in week 11.
Within 5-9 weeks, you are required to embark on ' Journey of Discovery'. Over this time period, you required to use 5 creative mind tools for idea generation for resulting in possible solution to problem or a prototype of your new product, process or service. Use 3 creative mind tools that you were introduced to within tutorials and 2 additional ones along with evidences generated during such process like photos, drawing, etc. and cover them within video presentation.
At end of Week 9, you must have developed with some great ideas and are now move to “convergence stage” of the process. You are required to identify top idea using a structured decision process using videos or photos in video presentation. You should also show that how creative mind tools play a great role in this process.
On the basis of evidence collected, merge a video presentation for demonstrating rest of the class journey and final innovative idea. Please make sure your video presentation should be uploaded to YouTube by Friday in week 11 and link with short introduction covered on 'Students videos and blog feedback' page.
