The scenario of this report is based on evaluating different packages that a tour operator can offer to their customers. In this regard, this report is going to initiate itinerary including holiday packages, costing and pricing by considering:
- Develop an understanding over tour operator sector in the context of travel and tourism industry.
- Evaluate different stages that are involved in developing holidays.
- Analyze brochures and various ways of distribution that can be used to sell holidays by Trailfinders.
- Determine tactical and strategical decision making of Trailfinders.
INTRODUCTION
Tour operation management refers to the formulation of plans and strategies in order to attract large number of visitors towards various tourist destination places. In today' world, every individual are showing their willingness to visit to an attractive tourist places once in life so as to spend some leisure time with their families, friends, relatives etc. Travel and tourism business is one of the fastest growing sector which has generated huge revenues every year thus contributed maximum to the economy of country. The present assignment is based on Trailfinders which is a travel and tourism company offering an attractive packages to the customers with a motive of attracting large number of customers. The project includes the impact of current and recent trends on tourist operation business along with the approaches of contracting for various elements of the Holiday. Apart from this, there are various aspects as well which are discussed under this report in the context of Trailfinders (Barratt, Choi and Li, 2011).

Holidays many be defined as the relaxation time and getting out from the stress from regular schedule. Thus, at this time the people may show their interest in visiting at various destination places located in different countries. To help them in decide which tourism destination are better and affordable, tourist operators play an important role in giving guidance and an attractive package to influences their interest (Cook, Hsu and Marqua, 2014). A range of techniques are there which are developed in order to develop the working of tourism sector. Some of them are as follows:
Research for destinations: In this stage, the tour operators conduct research with an objective of enquiring about the aim to be travelling and search. The needs and preferences of customers decide the tourist destinations. For this, proper investigations are done in order to find out an attractive tourist location which comes under the budget of customers through which they can attract large number of visitors.
Developing Tour Itinerary: After conducting research related with location and market selected for tourists, the next step is to to create visit agenda which involves all the activities that to be done at the time travelling. It includes goals, facilities, transportations, destinations etc. after considering the needs and preferences of customers. This stage takes at least to months to achieve (Dietz, 2011).
Negotiation: In this stage, the tourist operators contacting various sellers and other merchants in order to manage and control cost of the packages which are being formulated. Negotiating with facilities provider help tourist operators to offer attracting packages to the visitors which are easily comes under the expected budget of visitors.
Determining the Prices: In this stage, tours operators determined the cost which will be incurred while travelling. The charge of travelling packages has different factors such as cost of air fare, accommodation, local arrangement, research, marketing and many others. Thereafter, cosy sheet should be designed in order to showing overall structure of cost so that they can add such cost of their offering packages.
Marketing of Packages made: In this stage, the tourist operators now looking to advertise the tourism packages they formed after considering all aspects related to travel and tourist Destination. The main objective of adopting marketing tools is to crate awareness about the products and services they offered in their holiday packages so that the interest and travelling decision can be easily influenced i9n favour of packages offered by tourist operators.
