This unit states that you have to identify a problem and this had to be solved with the use of robot, designing of solution and present aspect of working to peer members.
- Discuss the problems related to case study.
- Provide a comparison between most commonly used problem solving techniques.
Introduction
Problem can be determined as a situation in which one is unsatisfied or is not happy because he or she fails to fulfil their requirements. In order to solve the problems, it is required to take up appropriate steps that will be suitable enough to make sure that use of technologies are done to overcome the situation. On the other hand, problem solving is considered to be the process that enables to identify the issues faced and developing an effective plan and implementing them so as to meet the satisfaction level.
Further, Robots are automated machine that are programmable by computer. These are performed by various serious of complex tasks by humans that are highly effective and accurate. There are use of external system that are used to control robots. This is considered as a system that consists of sensors, power supplies, software, etc.
Problem Identification
In this modern world, the rate of accidents are raising tremendously. One of the reason for this is high speeding, lack of experience among drivers, lack of control over vehicle, etc. Further, majority of countries are facing issues of accidents among cars. Another reason for such type of accidents are because of people who drink and drive (Gechter, Contet and Koukam, 2010). The high extent rate of accidents can be reduced when proper safety measures are taken. However, it is identified that due to some or the other reason people end up killing themselves. With aging there are problems identified among people related to vision, judgment for speed, controlling, etc. All these reasons can be determined to be the main reasons due to which people get in trouble and meet with accidents and at worst case scenario, people die. There are many basic rules and that are to be followed by drivers like maintaining the speed limit, following signals, etc. All these important laws that are made so that effective management of vehicles are possible. In spite of all these aspects being followed there are many errors that occur from the side of drivers due to which there are no changes identified in the rate of accidents (Leger, Bayon and Faraut, 2014). In accordance with social aspects, there are traffic police who make sure that life of people can be protected best possible. However, it is identified that traffic police fail to control the traffic and thus it ends up with accidents. All these issues that are being faced can be solved when appropriate techniques are being implemented.
Problem Solving Technique
As it is being asked to make use of robots in order to overcome the issues that are currently. It was in the year when 2004 when use of driverless cars were introduced. However, it was a complete failure (Takahashi, Shimizu and Kato, 2010). Use of robots can be done so as to driver cars and they can also be used as drivers for taxi. All these are effective enough to make sure that rate of problems that are being faced can be solved. For driving car, it is required to have sensory skills in order to control the speed and vehicles that are nearby. With the help of robots, the rate of traffic and accidents can be controlled in effective manner. However, there are some of the health and safety and legal hurdles that are needed to be resolved. If the robot is able to replace humans in driving, then proper use of time for traffic controllers can be done. Apart from this, even at high speed through the sensors that robots have will be effective enough to detect the car nearby (Verschueren, De Bruyne and Diehl, 2014). Further, the requirement or destination can be covered as per the seep that is being asked by the owner. Further, there are no ageing factors that affects and so it will be permanent solution for the errors that are generally make by human beings while they are driving.
