Tesla Inc. formerly named as Tesla Motors is an American automaker, energy Storage Company and solar panel Manufacturer based in Palo Alto, California. It was founded in 2003, It is specializing in electric cars, lithium-ion battery storage and through their Solar City subsidiary, residential solar panels.
The roadster, the very first mass produced electric sports car, in February2008 gained widespread attention. Model S is an electric luxury Sedan and second vehicle, launched in June 2012, is built at Tesla Factory, California. It’s been the world's bestselling plug in electric car for two years 2015 and 2016.
The global sales have achieved to 150000-unit milestone in November 2016 after for years and five months of its introduction. In 2016, Model S ranks as second bestselling plug-in after Nissan Leaf.
Model S was followed by Model X, a crossover SUV in September 2015.
Model 3, is the Fourth vehicle of Tesla designed for mass- market, launched in March 2016.It production started in July 2017 with base price of US$35000, before any government incentives.
The strategy adopted by Tesla in launching Model T, back in 1920's is somewhat same.
It is believing by Tesla that key issue is research investigating sources of sustainable competitive advantage which is done on continuous basis and has to think'' out of box” to enter saturated market in order to gain market share and increase in generated income.
