Evaluation of problem

Imperial Hotel of London is a famous international brand which is a 4-star hotel. Thus as a result they can easily enhance their operations and techniques in an effective and efficient manner. It is located in London and delivers services to tourist guests and business who have high expectations related to services. This hotel has a good brand image. In this case hotel focuses on enhancing the satisfaction level of all people. This hotel delivers many services such as restaurants & bars, 500 bedrooms, swimming pool, leisure room etc. Thus they can easily satisfy all people in an effective and efficient manner. It has staff of around 450 staff members, 6  head departments and cleaning contractors through which it can deliver efficient services to all people. It helps in enhancing the satisfaction level of all people.

Workers focus on success of company. Manager of Imperial London faces many issues and problems such as leadership, management, high staff turnover, inefficient system and lack of operating procedures. It can affect the profitability and thus hampers the processes and methods of Imperial hotel. Many disputes arise and conflicts occur between all the departments. Staff members cannot delver the effective and efficient services to all staff members. Hence manager cannot manage all activities and cannot deliver efficient services to staff members. There is miscommunication between workers and thus wrong information is delivered to staff members. Hence as a result there is reduction in revenues of the company (Gattorna, 2017).

Company faces the problem of staff members. It has selected staff members but they are leaving the job. Thus as a result they cannot recruit some staff members and they work only for 6 months. Staff turnover is 60% a year. Hence firm create various plans and policies so that they can select 30 workers out of 50 workers. There are 20 staff members who are long and permanent employees and they are serving the company for many years (Stark, 2015).

All candidates are selected by ABC International. They take interview of many candidates and evaluate them on basis of three criteria such as applicant have experience of hotel housekeeping department. If hotel cannot recruit staff members then this firm organises interview and select many staff members for the Imperial Hotel.

Imperial hotel is working with the Spanish staff members. Other room attendants are dissatisfied as non cooperative and they both cannot work together. Standard of in staff members is not good. Thus standard system is established so that company can easily evaluate the standards of serviced room. Hence as a result they cannot perform better. Thus the Spanish staff members always rank more than the in house staff. In house staff members do not come regularly and thus company have pressure on housekeeping budget (Haddow, Bullock and Coppola, 2017).

There are complains regarding from many guests regarding cleanliness level in hotels Housekeeping staff members generally become very rude to customers. Thus as a result full time workers have poor motivation levels. There is also a problem and issue of cleanlinesses of kitchen. Thus the Imperial hotel cannot maintain good image in minds of all people. Hence they have to create many plans and policies so that they can earn more revenues and can enhance market share.

Application of management theory to improve team working

Management theories are used so that they can enhance the co-ordination and reduce the conflicts in the staff. Thus it can directly enhance the customer satisfaction and quality of services. In Imperil Hotel, manager can easily apply various approaches and methods so that they can increase effectiveness of all functions and can solve all problems of all staff members. According to the case study it is found that management faces many issues regarding the back office staff members and the maintenance of housekeeping staff and kitchen staff. There are various poor operating and control problems and issues. Thus Imperial uses various management theories which are described below:

Classical theory

According to this theory all staff members can easily understand their duties and functions. Through this it can directly improve the performance of all staff members. Hence management can easily evaluate all activities and operations which are assigned to all workers. Imperial use this theory so that they can increase the productivity and efficiency of all workers. Thus as a result they can easily motivate all workers and this results in maintaining peaceful and positive environment in the company. This directly encourages all staff members and thus they give superior results (Pathan, 2016).

Contingency theory

According to this theory, problems and issues are solved according to different situations. Thus manager of Imperial hotel applies this theory so that they can easily solve all issues and problems of all staff members. Due to this they can enhance the motivation and satisfaction level of all workers and thus can perform with full efficiency and zeal in the firm. It directly leads to improving the performance of staff members and hotel.

Human relation theory

According to this theory behaviour of human resources can be improved. Thus Imperial hotel applies this theory to improve behaviour of workers. They had organised training sessions so that they can provide effective training to all staff members. Hence it directly increase the knowledge and skills of all employees. Thus it improves the performance of all workers.

Bureaucratic administration theory by Max Weber: It is powerful administration hypothesis which should be connected by the general chief of Imperial Hotels to evade clashes between the offices because of incapable administration and screen over the elements of various offices.
